Grants for Education Overview:
Astellas and its Alliance partners are committed to supporting high-quality medical education activities or programmes that impact the healthcare community. Educational activities may be accredited or non-accredited. Grant funding can only be provided to eligible organisation and not to individual healthcare professionals. Eligible organisation may include hospitals, academic medical centres, medical schools, professional medical associations/societies, and medical education companies.
For additional information on Grants for Education, including areas of interest and eligibility criteria, or to apply, visit https://www.astellasgrants.com/
Where permitted locally, a portion of a Grant for Education to a Healthcare organisation may be used to cover costs associated with HCPs attending the educational programme organised by that same HCO, as long as the Grant for Education is primarily used to fund the educational programme itself.
Healthcare organisations that wish to request funding to support only HCP congress attendance can learn more about this opportunity here.
Astellas provides direct funding to individual healthcare professionals (HCPs) to attend congresses and conferences, and will consider funding requests from HCPs, where individual HCP funding to support congress attendance is permitted by Code, Regulations and Law, and where Astellas eligibility criteria are met.
Please note that individual HCP funding is not permitted in the United States or Japan.

Grants to HCOs to Support HCP Congress Attendance
HCOs may apply for funding grants to support HCP attendance at pre-identified, eligible congresses. HCOs must submit a grant funding application form and be able to independently manage the entire process without any hands-on support. A maximum of 10 HCPs can be funded through the grant request, and Astellas must have no involvement in the selection of the HCPs to receive support to attend congress. The HCO must be one of the following:
- Government or public-funded hospital
- Medical society or association
- Other (university, research group, etc.)
An HCO is only eligible to receive grants for HCP congress attendance two times per fiscal year (April to March) per therapeutic area Astellas supports.
HOW TO APPLY
HCOs wishing to apply for grant funding to support HCP congress attendance may provide an inquiry to [email protected] . A grant application form will be provided for your completion and return. After an initial review of your submission to ensure HCO and event eligibility, your request will be forwarded to an internal Astellas Grants Committee for consideration. We anticipate that decisions on eligible requests may take up to eight weeks, so please factor in event lead time when submitting an application for funding.
