Changing Tomorrow Day is our annual day of service and it serves as a powerful reminder of the meaningful impact we have the ability to make in our community. This year Astellas celebrated the 10th anniversary of Changing Tomorrow Day in the U.S. and met its goal of donating more than 80,000 hours of service over the past decade across the Americas. At Astellas, we recognize our responsibility extends beyond the medicines we create, so we constantly strive to build a brighter future for patients, people, communities and partners.
At Astellas, our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our patients, neighbors and communities is at the core of what we do. Our employees are at the heart of this commitment – and Changing Tomorrow Day is a representation of their passion for giving back. Since 2009, Astellas employees in the Americas have demonstrated this commitment by donating more than 140,000 hours of their time to volunteer in their communities.
A series of company-sponsored volunteer events, Changing Tomorrow Day is a collaborative effort with local nonprofits to provide Astellas employees an opportunity to make a positive, measurable impact in the communities we serve. To extend our impact throughout the year, Astellas employees volunteer at other forums such as the company’s National Sales Forum and annually are offered up to five paid days off to volunteer at a charitable organization of their choice
On September 18, 2019, nearly 1,000 Astellas employees joined together across the U.S., to help their communities and volunteer at local nonprofit organizations. Activities in the Chicago area benefitted 12 nonprofit organizations, including Fisher House, Gilda’s Club Chicago, Phil’s Friends and Lurie Children’s Hospital.
Across the United States, employees volunteered at service projects to support cancer patients and their families, children’s health and wellbeing, veterans, childhood literacy, community members living with disabilities and more.Learn more about Changing Tomorrow Day 2019.
