Astellas has been included in the FTSE4Good Global Index Series, one of the world’s premier indices for socially responsible investment since 2011. Managed by FTSE Russell, The FTSE4Good Index Series serves as a major criterion for investors around the world in assessing social responsibility activities by the companies, when making investment decisions. FTSE Russell uses unique criteria which contain 14 themes relevant to environmental, social and governance practices. The FTSE4Good Index Series, together with the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, are the most recognized sustainability indices worldwide.
Named to 2015 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index
Astellas has been named for the first time to the CDP Japan 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) in recognition of its perfect score on the disclosure of information related to climate change.
CDP (Formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) surveys and analyzes climate change strategies at 500 of Japan’s largest companies within the FTSE Japan Index. The top 50 highest-scoring respondents earn a place in the CDLI, and Astellas was named this year with a perfect disclosure with a score of 100.
Astellas is being recognized Best Workplaces in Canada 2016
Astellas is being recognized as one of 2016’s Best Workplaces in Canada in two categories; the category of large, multinational corporations and the category of top workplaces for women.
The annual award, which is administered by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada, recognizes employers across the country for creating and fostering exemplary workplace environments.
Nadeshiko Brand Component 2015 for Excellence in Providing Opportunities for Women
Astellas has recognized as a Nadeshiko Brand component by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
This honor has been given for excellence in promoting the involvement of women in the workplace as a listed company. Nadeshiko Brands for FY2015 were selected from companies listed on the 1st and 2nd sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Mothers Index and JASDAQ. Major criteria in the selection process were enhancing female participation in terms of advancing women’s careers and support for work-life-balance, as well as ROE (Return on Equity) in the last 3 years.
Diversity Management Selection 100
Astellas was awarded the “Diversity Management Selection 100” for its initiatives to actively promote diversity among its employees by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI”) in 2014.
Astellas is the first pharmaceutical company to be recognized for this award.
