As announced on October 26.2010, it will merge its production subsidiaries in Japan, Astellas Tokai Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Yaizu, Shizuoka; president: Shunichi Hirashima) and Astellas Toyama Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Toyama,Toyama; president: Kinji Nakajima) and Astellas Pharma Chemicals Co., Ltd . (headquarters: Takahagi, Ibaraki; president: Motoyoshi Katano) on April 1, 2011.
