Astellas’ CSR Management and Social Contribution Activities
Astellas CSR-based management program is a means through which the Company seeks to achieve sustained enhancement of its enterprise value while remaining acutely aware of its social responsibilities and taking a broard view that considers economics, society, and humanity, so that it can exist not just as a market entity, but also as a valuable member of society. Astellas promotes this as its fundamental policy for its corporate activities. Based on this principle, Astellas has proactively taken on various societal contribution activities within Japan, including the operation of a voluntary donation fund where employees’ donations are matched by donations of the same value by Astellas and used to purchase and donate vans to transport people confined to wheelchairs and ambulances to transport those in need of medical care, which it has conducted for the past 40 years. The Astellas Group is also conducting activities designed to contribute to the conservation of the environment and to promote the development of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical sciences.
