Protopic Ointment (generic name: tacrolimus hydrate) has been marketed globally for the treatment for atopic dermatitis since its first launch in Japan in 1999. Discovered and developed by Astellas, Protopic has been marketed in over 45 countries worldwide, including Japan, the US, and countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
