1923	Yamanouchi Yakuhin Shokai started by Kenji Yamanouchi in Osaka. (renamed Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 1940 and transferred to Tokyo in 1942)
1963	Established Taiwan Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (first business base in overseas)
1979	New York Office opened (first business base in the U.S.)
1980	London Office opened (first business base in Europe)
1986	Established Yamanouchi Ireland Co., Ltd. (first overseas production base for bulk drug substances)
1991	Established an independent marketing organization in Europe by acquiring the pharmaceutical division of Royal Gist Brocades (renamed Yamanouchi Europe B.V. in 1994)
1994	Established Shenyang Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in China (renamed Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd. in 2002)
2001	Established Yamanouchi Pharma America, Inc. in the U.S. (in preparation for full-scale marketing in the U.S.)

1962	Established Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., (Taiwan) Ltd. (first overseas business base after World War II; renamed Fujisawa Taiwan Co., Ltd. in 1994)
1977	Established Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Corporation (first business base in the U.S.)
1979	Established Fujisawa London Office (first business base in Europe)
1983	Acquired minority stake in Klinge Pharma GmbH of Germany (majority ownership acquired in 1988; became a fully owned company and renamed Fujisawa Deutschland GmbH in 2002)
1990	Established Fujisawa USA, Inc. in the U.S., following the total acquisition of Lyphomed, Inc., a company in which Fujisawa had invested since 1985
1991	Established Fujisawa GmbH in Germany
1998	Reorganized U.S. business structure, creating Fujisawa Healthcare, Inc.
2001	Restructured the European operations and positioned Fujisawa GmbH as the European headquarters
