At Astellas, we are working to achieve the group-wide implementation of our business philosophy. The Astellas Charter of Corporate Conduct is the realization of our business philosophy at the corporate activity level. Meanwhile, "Our Code of Conduct" clearly states the basic rules of conduct for individual employees in their daily business activities. The diligent pursuit of both codes of conduct will lead to CSR-based management. Astellas Group officers and employees uphold our management philosophy, the Charter of Corporate Conduct and "Our Code of Conduct" in the course of performing all aspects of their daily business activities.
We have placed the primary focus on implementing a high level of control in our compliance system as well. The President and CEO serves as chairman of the CSR Committee, and compliance promotion leaders have been appointed for each department in the Astellas Group in Japan to disseminate ideas on compliance at each facility and workplace. Also, a helpline has been set up to enable an employee with any questions or consultations to directly approach an executive in charge of compliance issues. There is a separate help desk for sexual harassment issues. A third available option provided is consultations with outside legal experts. Meanwhile, we are making utmost efforts to ensure anonymity and the maintenance of privacy for individuals making use of these various services.
