PRODUCT SPECIALIST UROLOGY/DERMATOLOGY EASTERN ALBERTA

Astellas Pharma Canada is currently searching for a Product Specialist, Urology & Dermatology for Eastern Alberta, reporting to Sales Manager, Dermatology & Urology, Western Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Achieving and maintaining consistently high levels of sales of dermatology and urology products in the assigned territory for all of the key institutions and customers,
  • Demonstrating strong organizational skills in CHE (Continuing Health Education) planning, including development of Key Opinion Leaders for use in CHE initiatives, organizing and conducting relevant CHE events; adhering to Rx&D Code of Marketing Practices.
  • Developing and maintaining strong, professional relationships with office and Hospital-based Health Care Providers.
  • Sourcing clinical research opportunities with customers with the understanding and consent of Research and Development.
  • Attending selected domestic and international dermatology/urology conferences within relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Creating an annual regional business plan to maximize business opportunities and achieve annual regional forecasts. Managing regional budget to assigned budgetary target.
  • Attending biannual sales meetings

The key skills and experience required include:

  1. University degree required. Advanced or professional degree in a health care discipline or in life sciences, or an advanced degree in business is preferred.
  2. Minimum of three years sales experience in an established pharmaceutical company; experience with teaching and/or tertiary care hospitals is preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information is imperative.
  4. Proven oral and written communication skills. Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
  5. Prior experience and skills in time management including a frequent travel schedule.
  6. Experience with computers is required; especially word processing, spreadsheets, presentation design, software and customer relationship management databases.
